DONALD H. KELLEY was born in Denver, Colorado, on May 27,
1929, and was raised on a farm near Wallace, Nebraska. Don obtained
his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska in 1950 and
his law degree from the same school in 1952. He was the comment
editor of the University of Nebraska Law Review in 1951 and 1952.
Don was the co-editor of the Nebraska Probate Manual & System in
1976 for the Nebraska State Bar Association, and is co-author of the
legal treatises "Family Business Organizations" and "Estate Planning
for Farmers and Ranchers", published by Thomson/West. He is also
co-author of "The Farming and Ranching Industries", published by
Little, Brown and Company.
Mr. Kelley has served as a Regent of the American College of Tax Counsel and the American
College of Trust and Estate Counsel. In 1988, he was awarded the Distinguished Service
Award from the American Agricultural Law Association. He is a frequent lecturer nationwide
on estate planning and taxation. He is licensed to practice law in the states of Nebraska and
Colorado. He is presently Of Counsel, and no longer actively practices law.
