agricultural operations. The practice also has expanded to the representation of urban
businesses of both small and large size. This practice includes both advance planning, to reduce
tax risk, and audit assistance after a tax issue has arisen. The tax team regularly works in
conjunction with other teams, including the estate planning, business entity, commercial law, and
real property teams, to reduce the negative income tax effects commonly found in issues arising
in those areas of practice.
Mr. Steinmeyer's particular knowledge of the field of agricultural taxation has been recognized
through publication by Little-Brown and Company of the book "The Farm and Ranch Industry"
of which Mr. Steinmeyer and Donald H. Kelley are co-authors.
