Tim is a senior member of Kelley, Scritsmier & Byrne's litigation team.  Tim regularly heads prosecution and defense of civil lawsuits filed in state and federal courts.  He has significant experience with both bench and jury trials in addition to cases before the Court of Appeals, Nebraska Supreme Court, the Eight Circuit Court of Appeals and the Eighth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.

Practice Areas

  • Provides litigation support for banking and commercial institutions and represents creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.  

  • Assists lenders in debt workouts, loan documentation and collateralization, and in defense of lender liability suits.   

  • Advises agriculture-related businesses including farmers and ranchers, agricultural lenders, crop input suppliers and agricultural equipment services.  

  • Because Tim grew up ranching, he understands agricultural businesses and their unique circumstances and practices.  

  • Regularly provides advice to employers relating to employee problems including 

  • Guidance in handling of disciplinary actions

  • Compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.  

  • Prepares employee handbooks, non-competition and confidentiality agreements.  

  • Assists schools in the areas of student discipline, regulatory compliance, employment and labor relations.  

  • Tim prepares employment contracts, student handbooks and policies.   

  • He has spoken on numerous school law topics in seminars hosted by the Nebraska Council of School Attorneys.
