Todd has more than 15 years' experience as an attorney, focusing his practice on taxation and related areas, including estate planning, business and charities.  Prior to joining KSB, Todd was a Revenue Agent with the IRS in North Platte for approximately 8 years.  He has a background in accounting and has passed the CPA exam but does not practice as a Certified Public Accountant.

 

He is actively involved with several charities.  He is presently on the Board of Directors of the North Platte Community Playhouse and has participated in many aspects of the theater, including directing, acting and playing in the orchestra.  Todd also is very active in the First Baptist Church, serving as a member of various boards and committees.  He holds an instrumental role in the Living Christmas Tree, an annual Christmas pageant sponsored by First Baptist.  Todd grew up on a farm near Hastings, Nebraska, where his parents and two of his brothers still farm; a third brother farms at Grant, Nebraska.  

Experience

  • Assists with the creation of new charitable organizations and reinstating organizations whose exempt status has been revoked.

  • Assists with estate tax planning through the creation and funding of Irrevocable Generation Skipping Trusts and Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts.

  • Assists with estate planning through Wills and Trusts.

  • Probate of decedent's estate and filing inheritance tax proceedings when no probate is required.

  • Prepares Estate Tax and Gift Tax Returns.

  • Assists and provide guidance on estate and income taxation and state law in the creation of business entities.

  • Assists and provide guidance on federal income taxation of trusts, estates and business entities with respect to proposed or past transactions.
